Wairarapa Medical Partners with Ka Ora to Expand After-Hours Care
We’re excited to announce a new partnership with Ka Ora, a rural telecare provider, to ensure our patients have access to high-quality healthcare – anytime, anywhere.
Starting Friday 31st October 2025, all Wairarapa Medical registered patients will be able to access virtual after-hours appointments through Ka Ora when our local services are unavailable. This includes weeknights and weekends when Wairarapa-based services are closed.
Here’s how it works:
- When you call our practice after hours, your call will automatically redirect to Ka Ora.
- You’ll first speak with a Kaiawhina or a Nurse, who will assess your health needs.
- If needed, you’ll be able to book a virtual appointment directly with a Clinician.
What does it cost?
The cost of a Ka Ora virtual appointment is the same as visiting our practices:
- Free for children under 14
- $19.50 for Community Services Card holders
- Standard fees apply for other patients
